Being with others (being in society) is a process, one where we hope that healthy dialogue leads to a better whole. An exploration of dialogue, via collaborative duos, seems pertinent to our political moment.
Work by Pairs attempts to draw out the processes and possibilities of collaboration. Collaborative processes inspire a release of control, and trust of one’s partner; one’s creativity can abandon the limitations and habits of a single ego, and interact with its counterpart in another.
The artists featured span the disciplines of painting, sculpture, photography, music, and performance. Their relationships are those of friends, romantic partners, sisters, and mother-daughter.
