Distillery Gallery is pleased to present Organs Studios: Viscera Nuda, a living showcase of the eight artists that make up this Boston-based artist collective, and their individual interpretations of the group's namesake: Organs. Viscera Nuda consists of both original work and a transformation of the gallery itself into a literal interpretation of the strange internal workings of Organs Studios. Through projection, light, sound, performance, and large-scale sculptural and interactive elements, visitors will experience the space as both a contemporary art gallery and as a trip through the insides of something larger than themselves. Within this framework, the artists explore themes of body horror, authenticity, molecular identity, and systems and their functions, among others.
